About Roles

As part of our Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) team, you will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing financial transactions to detect suspicious activities, identify potential risks, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. You will use advanced monitoring tools and work closely with the compliance and risk teams to ensure that all activities comply with local and international regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze financial transactions on the platform to identify patterns or activities that may suggest money laundering (ML), terrorist financing (TF), or other illicit activities.
  • Review and investigate alerts generated by the transaction monitoring system (TMS). Conduct deep-dive investigations on high-risk transactions and customers, including unusual transaction volumes, large withdrawals, rapid deposit/withdrawal patterns, and transactions to/from high-risk jurisdictions.
  • conduct thorough investigations of suspicious transactions, documenting findings and escalating cases when appropriate and other required reports to be filed with regulators.
  • Assess risk levels of identified transactions or clients and provide recommendations to senior management for enhanced due diligence (EDD), additional customer verification, or account restrictions.
  • Ensure that the company's transaction monitoring practices adhere to local and international AML, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all investigative work, including case reports and transaction monitoring logs. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and in line with compliance standards.
  • Work closely with other teams, including KYC, Compliance, and trading, to provide a holistic approach to financial crime prevention.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and optimization of transaction monitoring systems and alert parameters to enhance their accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about regulatory updates and changes in AML/CFT regulations that may impact transaction monitoring and reporting practices.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transaction monitoring, AML, financial crime prevention, or a related role, preferably in the cryptocurrency, fintech, or financial services industries.
  • Solid understanding of AML, KYC, and CFT regulations, including knowledge of international compliance standards
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to identify and investigate suspicious patterns in large datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess complex and potentially high-risk situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or similar certifications related to AML and compliance will be an advantage.
